Hello!

Here's a little bit about me and why I love being a Celebrant...

My Story

Before I became a celebrant I had a joyful career working in the arts.

I ran a youth theatre, and directed large-scale community outdoor theatre in interesting places.

I’ve worked for the local authority culture team and for Arts Council England as a Theatre Relationship Manager.

I chaired the Durham Culture Partnership and sat on the board of the North East Cultural Partnership.

And for 8 years I ran Northern Heartlands, an arts charity and Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation, exploring creative ways to work with health, the environment and in communities.

All of which has taught me to be adaptable and creative as well as highly organised and reliable!  But it was planning and leading my Dad's funeral back in 2019 that made me realise that being a Celebrant was what I really wanted to do most of all.  It mattered so much that we were able to give such a special man the celebration that his life deserved.

What I love most is working with people, hearing their stories and crafting meaningful events that touch people's lives and stay in the memory for ever.

I’m based in Newbiggin by the Sea in Northumberland and work as a celebrant across Northumberland and County Durham.

I would love to hear from you and learn about your own story, or about the story of someone special to you.
